I wanted to share some of my poetry in hopes it might encourage you. My brief history, I have always been better at expressing my heart through poetry. For some reason, whatever I write comes out in poetry. I hope you are encouraged by them.
“Until that Day You call me Home”
I long to see you one more time
Come walking through the door
But you are with Jesus and
I won’t hear your voice anymore
If you could see my tears
You would tell me not to cry
But my heart breaks as I wonder
Why someone so special had to die
I will pray to God for strength
He will help me to get through
But the sadness is so real
That came when I lost you
I will always praise You Lord
And I know I’m never alone
I will serve you through the pain
Until that day you call me home
“A Savior whose love will never End”
There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother
Closer than any father, sister or mother
Someone who will be there when you fall
Someone who will be there when you call
A friend who loves and truly cares for you
Someone who will carry all the burdens too
A Savior who died on the cross for your sins
And lead the way for your new life to begin
This friend is a gift from our Father above
And has this amazing and unfathomable love
He did this to have a relationship with us
And in Him is where we can put all our trust
This friend is Jesus, who wants us to be free
From all the worry about things we cannot see
Jesus will always be our closest friend
A Savior whose love will never end
“Heal my Broken Heart”
There are times in life when you
Go through heartache and pain
Sometimes you can weather the storm
and learn how to dance in the rain
But right now I am in deep despair
and wonder how much more I can take
The sleepless nights and long hard days
just prolong my tremendous heartache
I know time will heal all wounds
and I will be fine in a little while
but right now I am in pain
and can’t even break out a smile
I believe that my broken heart
has been sent up to heaven to heal
so I will gaze up to the sky and
remember, only God’s love is real
I will still forever praise the Lord
because of His love and grace
I know I am not alone and will
soon have a smile back on my face
All I can do is press on and
Pray for a brand new start
And I know God will be there
To heal my broken heart
Chains of Hate, Veil of Deception
Hate is a poison, subtle and sly,
It whispers in darkness, it blinds the eye.
It dresses as justice, it claims to be right,
But its fruit is destruction, its roots born of night.
Deception comes softly, clothed as a friend,
A lie in the middle, a twist at the end.
It feeds on the careless, the wounded, the weak,
Promising power, but silencing meek.
Yet Christ is the light that exposes the snare,
He shatters the darkness with love beyond compare.
The cross is our weapon, the truth is our shield,
In Him every fortress of evil must yield.
So cling to the Savior, the Way and the Light,
His truth breaks the chains, His love ends the fight.
What hate tried to murder, the grave could not keep,
For Christ is the Victor, His mercy runs deep.
“Face to Face with Jesus”
A great man’s life was torn away,
By cruel hands that chose to slay.
But though the night is dark and long,
God’s truth remains, His throne is strong.
The wicked think their deeds are hid,
But nothing escapes what our Savior did.
For justice waits, God will repay,
This murderer will surely face His day.
Yet while we grieve and hearts are sore,
We know he walks through Heaven’s door.
No longer bound by earthly strife,
He’s crowned with glory, clothed with life.
Now face to face with Christ he stands,
Held gently by nail-pierced hands.
The One who conquered death and grave,
Receives the soul He came to save.
Lord, hold his wife and calm her fears,
Embrace her children, dry their tears.
Give them strength from Heaven above,
Surround their hearts with endless love.
Though sorrow lingers, hope remains,
For love eternal breaks these chains.
And we will see, in Your good plan,
This great man whole, where life began.
“In the Quiet of Your Absence”
The house feels empty, your voice now a song
That echoes in memories, where my heart belongs.
I reach for your hand, but it’s only the air,
And my heart aches deeply, missing you there.
The memories linger, both tender and bright,
Your smile, your voice, your warmth in the night.
Yet even in sorrow, I know You, O Lord,
Hold both my tears and the one I adored.
Through every dark moment, I feel You near,
Whispering comfort and quieting fear.
Your love surrounds me when my heart is torn,
And carries me gently until the new morn.
One day we will meet where there’s no more pain,
No tears, no goodbyes, only joy will remain.
Until then, Lord Jesus, walk with me through,
And help me live each day with the love that I knew.
“Why I Had to Walk Away”
I did love you with all my heart
but it was never meant to be
Even though the pain I feel
is still very near to me
There is a piece of my heart
forever broken in two
But God had other plans
and only wants the best for you
But it’s time to move on
and be happy once again
I pray you look to Jesus
to be your closest friend
No matter what happens as
we go through life apart
remember that you had a place
deep inside my heart
I do want to tell you that
I will pray for you each day
But God said no, and that is
why I had to walk away
“Always be There for You”
In times of heartache and pain
When sorrow gets too much to bear
You will have a shoulder to cry on
Because I will always be there
I will pray with you and walk with you
Through the storm and the rain
You won’t have to carry the burden
Or stand alone in your pain
I pray your pain and sorrow
will soon come to an end
and the happiness you once felt
Would be yours once again
Remember to trust in God
No matter what you say or do
And know that you have a friend
Who will always be there for you
“Sometimes When…”
Sometimes it’s hard to
keep love in your heart
When things don’t work out
and you are falling apart
Sometimes it’s hard to
admit you were wrong
When someone you love
has been hurting you too long
Sometimes it’s hard to
take life day by day
When you know what you feel
but not what to say
Sometimes it’s hard to
be just good friends
When love is still there
and relationship ends
It’s time to let Jesus
take control of your life
And learn how to love Him
amid all your strife
Know that Jesus’ love
will always last
And “sometimes when”
will be in the past
“I Said a Prayer for you Today”
I said a prayer for you today
I prayed God would take your pain away
I prayed God would ease your troubled mind
And put all your hurts and sorrows behind
I prayed God would give you an everlasting peace
And that all your worries and cares would cease
I prayed God would heal your aching heart
And that in His arms you would never part
I prayed God would never let you go astray
I said a prayer for you today
“Thank You”
Thank You for the Fall
when the leaves change color
and the trees stand tall
Thank You for the Winter
when the snow covers the earth
and we rejoice and sing praises
at the risen Savior’s birth
Thank You for the Spring
when the flowers start to blossom
and the birds begin to sing
Thank You for the Summer
when the days grow long and hot
and we spend our days outside
so we can sweat a lot
We should be thankful for all
the seasons God freely gave to us
and keep a constant reminder
where we put our trust
“Praise You”
Lord, I praise You for Your spirit
that’s as calm as the sea
I praise You for the times
it’s been there to rescue me
Lord, I praise You because
You are worthy to be praised
It’s Your sovereignty and love
that always keeps me amazed
Lord, I praise You because
You keep me in awe each day
You always stick by me
even when I fall away
Lord, I praise You because You
are my Father and best friend
You will always be with me
for, with You, there is no end
Lord, I praise You for salvationn
through Jesus Christ Your Son
By His blood our sins are cleansed
and eternal life has just begun
“Only for You”
Lord, please help me to trust
And show me what to do
I need help with my unbelief
And help drawing closer to You
Lord, thank You for loving me and
Keeping me on the right track
Even when I struggle and
Find it hard to love You back
My heart feels very heavy
And my eyes swell with tears
When I think about Your blessings
Throughout all my years
Forgive me now as I
Fall on my knees and pray
To You, my Lord, whose love
Will never pass away
Oh Lord, make my heart
Feel brand new
Because I want to live
Only for You
“Cry Myself to Sleep”
I cry out to God
To take away my pain
I don’t know what’s happening
Or if I’ll ever feel whole again
These tears just keep flowing
Like rain from my eye
And I can’t stop this sadness
No matter how hard I try
Then I look up and realize
My strength comes from above
It comes from my Savior and
His incomprehensible love
So, I have keep going
And finish this race
Someday I’ll be in heaven
And see Jesus face to face
I know God will be there
No matter how much I weep
Especially at night
When I cry myself to sleep
“When Our Faith Shall Become Sight”
We really love and miss you
And we still grieve every day
But we know our time on earth
Will also soon pass away
We know You are pain free
And have everlasting peace
A day we all long for when
Our worries and cares will cease
We will be united and that is a
Promise from our Father above
A God who always stays and
Sustains us with His love
So, even though we feel sad
And the tears still flow at night
We all look forward to the day
When our faith shall become sight
